Founder & CEO
Shijuade Kadree (she/they)
Shijuade Kadree is a strategist, organizational transformation advisor, attorney, and founder of Compass Strategies Consulting. She is known for transforming complex institutions through intersectional analysis, policy innovation, and values‑driven leadership. A graduate of Emory University’s dual JD/MPH program, she has spent her career helping organizations — from municipal governments to global tech companies — build structures that are equitable, transparent, and accountable.
Her career includes serving as Head of Tech Equity at the Aspen Institute and Global Director of Diversity Strategy at Snap, Inc., where she led cross-functional initiatives to operationalize equity within product development, policy, and organizational culture. A former defense attorney with Brooklyn Defender Services and legislative counsel for the New York City Council, Shijuade has deep expertise in government relations, policy drafting, strategic planning, and multi-stakeholder engagement. She has also served as Chief Advocacy Officer for The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center, driving statewide and municipal advocacy efforts.
Grounded in a Black, queer, feminist framework, her work centers those most impacted by inequity as a necessary strategic pathway to more ethical, accessible, and future-ready systems. Using this lens across all sectors, Shijuade helps institutions confront structural challenges, strengthen accountability mechanisms, and design durable, intersectional strategies that move beyond performative inclusion.
This breadth of experience informs her ability to navigate political landscapes, support impactful system redesigns, cultivate cross-sector coalitions, and guide executive leaders through organizational change. Her approach blends rigorous analysis with relational leadership, ensuring that transformation is both principled, responsive, and sustainable.
